PUC To Investigate FirstEnergy Rate Hike Proposal
(Harrisburg, PA) -- The state Public Utility Commission will examine rate increases proposed by FirstEnergy. The electricity provider is seeking to raise the rates charged for distribution services by 34 percent, which would bring in nearly 504 million dollars. Across its four rate districts, customers would experience an average ten percent increase on their monthly bills. The PUC recently voted to suspend the rate hikes, pending their investigation. A final decision is due on January 1st, 2025.
